1

Create your timer in GifyLabs

Sign in to GifyLabs and create a new countdown timer. Set your target date, choose a template, and customize the design to match your Mailchimp campaign.

2

Copy the embed code

From your GifyLabs dashboard, click the copy icon next to your timer to copy the embed code. It's a single <img> tag.

3

Open the Mailchimp campaign editor

In Mailchimp, navigate to Campaigns and open the email you want to edit. Use the drag-and-drop editor for the easiest experience.

4

Add a Code content block

Drag a "Code" content block into your email layout where you want the countdown timer to appear — typically above the fold, near your primary CTA.

5

Paste the embed code

Paste the GifyLabs embed code into the code editor. The timer will appear as a live preview in the Mailchimp editor.

6

Send a test email

Click "Preview and Test" → "Send a Test Email" to verify the countdown displays correctly on desktop and mobile.

Tips

  • Use an evergreen timer for Mailchimp automations and drip campaigns so each recipient sees a personalized countdown.

  • In Mailchimp's Classic Builder, you can also use an "Image" block and paste just the timer URL into the image source.

  • Set your timer width to 600px to match Mailchimp's default content width.

  • Mailchimp supports animated GIFs natively — no special configuration needed.
